TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) merupakan test yang digunakan untuk mengetahui tingkat kemampuan seseorang dalam berbahasa Inggris. Test ini ditujukan bagi orang yang tidak menggunakan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa ibu. Umumnya, test ini digunakan sebagai salah satu prasyarat bagi seseorang yang ingin melanjutkan studi atau bekerja di suatu negara yang menggunakan Bahasa Inggris dalam komunikas sehari-hari. 

Jenis-jenis toefl dibagi menjadi 3 antara lain:

1.    PBT-TOEFL atau Paper Based Test TOEFL atau dalam bahasa kita adalah tes TOEFL berbasis kertas. Seperti namanya, tes ini dilakukan di atas kertas dengan tiga sesi ujian yaitu Listening, Structure, dan Readin

2.     CBT-TOEFL atau Computer Based Test TOEFL atau tes TOEFL berbasis komputer. Tes ini menggunakan perangkat lunak resmi yang diterbitkan oleh ETS sebagai media pengujian. Dengan kata lain, peserta ujian mengerjakan soal-soal ujian TOEFL berbasis komputer. 

3.     iBT-TOEFL atau internet Based Test TOEFL atau bisa juga disebut tes TOEFL berbasis internet. Jenis tes TOEFL inilah yang sudah berlaku dan diakui secara global. . Jenis tes TOEFL ini masih dilakukan di komputer, hanya saja kali ini tidak ada dukungan perangkat lunak sebagai media pengujian, namun dilakukan secara online atau dengan kata lain, peserta ujian akan mengerjakan soal-soal tes yang langsung disediakan oleh ETS secara online.

Toefl memiliki 5 jenis soal yng diantaranya adalah

1.    Soal listening comperehension

Soal-soal listening ditunjukan untuk mengukur kemampuan anda memahami bahasa Inggris secara lisan seperti yang digunakan di Amerika.

-       Dalam independent speaking, anda akan mendapat pertanyaan mengenai tema yang popular

-       Dalam intregrated speaking, anda membaca wacana yang berhubungan dengan situasi kampus atau tema akademik

MIMPI SEORANG PEMULUNG

JEBRET…………….. Dimas Evan membawa Indonesia memimpin  2-1 atas Brazil dalam pertandingan final piala dunia 2030, dengan waktu tersisa 5 menit lagi Indonesia  bisa mencapai impianya menjadi juara dunia untuk pertama kalinya. Pritttt prittt pritttt wasit meniupkan peluit akhir pertandingan Indonesia pun menjadi juara Piala Dunia dengan Evan menjadi pahlawan dengan mencetak 2 gol. Tapi semuanya berubah ketika mimi membangunkan ku saat tidur “Evan bangun udah siang sekolah”. Dengan muka yang masih mengantuk aku pun segera bangun dan menuju kamar mandi untuk bersiap-siap pergi kesekolah.

Tak terduga waktu sudah menunjukan pukul 06.45 tak lama lagi bel tanda masuk sekolah akan berbunyi aku pun bergegas mengambil sepeda dan mengayuh dengan sangat cepat.  Sialnya sesampai di sekolah pintu gerbang sudah ditutup aku pun tidak di perbolehkan masuk kelas, untungnya pak Kepala Sekolah sedang berulang tahun dan berbaik hati menyuruhku masuk dan member kesempatan agar tidak terlambat lagi ke sekolah. Di dalam kelas aku terbayang-bayang dengan mimpi semalam yang membawa Indonesia menjadi juara piala dunia “seandainya bisa seperti itu aku tak perlu memulung sehabis sekolah” ucap Evan dalam hati.

Jam demi jam telah di lalui akhirnya bel tanda berakhirnya pelajaran berbunyi “anak-anak besok jangan lupa pr nya di kerjakan” pinta ibu guru dengan nada yang keras. Tanpa peduli kata gurunya evan begegas pulang ke rumah mengambil karung untuk memulung botol-botol yang ada di TPS dekat rumahnya untuk membantu memenuhi kebutuhan hidup sehari-hari. “eh van kemana aja lu jam segini baru muncul?” Tanya teman-temanya, “biasa brohh ngegaul dulu” jawab Evan sambil tertawa. Mimi Evan yang bekerja sebagai tukang cuci panggilan tidak cukup penghasilanya untuk memenuhi kebutuhan seharai-hari oleh karena itu Evan mau tidak mau harus pergi memulung untuk menambah penghasilanya. Belum lagi pipi nya yang meninggalkan Evan sejak masih kecil membuat penderitaan keluarganya semakin bertambah.

Teriknya matahari, bau sampah yang menyengat, keringat yang membasahi tubuhnya tak menyurutkan semangat evan untuk tetap mencari secerca harapan dari tumpukan sampah. Satu karung penuh ia dapatkan untuk hari ini yang kemudian di jualke penadah. Lumayan Evan berhasil mendapatkan uang 12 ribu rupiah dan segera pulang untuk memberi kan kepada mimi nya “mi ini uang dapet dari mulung” kata Evan sambil tersenyum. Setelah pulang Evan tak langsung istirahat tapi pergi kembali untuk berlatih sepak bola di dekat rumahnya yang tak jauh dari TPS bersama teman-temanya yang akan mengikuti turnamen antar kampung di daerahnya satu minggu lagi.

Evan yang bercita-cita menjadi pemain bola professional sangat bersemangat menjalani latihan walaupun ini hanya turnamen antar kampung saja. Setelah latihan yang begitu melelahkan Evan pulang ke rumah dan langsung beristirahat di kasur sambil membayangkan impianya menjadi pesepak bola hebat yang bisa memiliki banyak uang dan bisa mengubah kehidupan sekarang menjadi yang lebih baik.

Satu minggu telah berlalu akhirnya turnamen pun di mulai. Evan bermain sebagai kapten tim dengan penuh semangat, pertandingan demi pertandingan di lalui dengan kemenangan dan penampilan yang sangat memukau dari evan. Puncaknya evan dan kawan-kawan mencapai final, di sini tak terduga ternyata ada pencari bakat dari timnas Indonesia yang kebetulan sedang mencari pemain untuk pra piala dunia u18. Dalam pertandingan final Evan tampil sangat memukau dengan mencetak 10 gol, hal ini membuat pencari bakat itu kepincut dengan penampilan Evan dan mengajak untuk bergabung bersama timnas Indonesia.

Dari sini lah awal karir Dimas Evan yang dulunya seorang pemulung dan kini pemain bola professional yang bermimpi membawa Indonesia juara Piala Dunia. Hidupnya tidak seperti dulu lagi yang serba kekurangan kini dia bisa mendapatkan apa yang dia inginkan.
